A Wee Message of Hope & Gratitude

A Wee Message of Hope & Gratitude
Sharing some autumnal beauty, from my home to yours.

Hey friends!

I'm not going to write much this week as my daughter has been visiting from back East (fun!), and I've also been occupied picking up the pieces of my aging, obstreperous stepmother's crumbling life (fun? not so much), so my focus has been very close to home.

Gratitude and Hope

If you're in the USA and celebrated Thanksgiving this week, I hope that you found plenty to be thankful for, and even more to be hopeful for. Maybe it's the algorithms on my social media feeds, but it seems to me that there really is so much reason to feel hopeful just now. For me, hopefulness is arriving in the form of millions of humans from all walks of life stepping up in these terrifying times and saying, "Not on my watch!" My hopefulness is growing with each small step we take, wondering/hoping if this will be the straw that breaks the fascist camel's back. Hopefulness appears to me in every patch of moss, string of lichen, singing bird, colourful tree, or bright dandelion pushing its delicate self up through the tarmac. I feel hopeful every time I fire off an email to a politician, knowing that I am playing my small part in making this world a better place. I'm hoping that more and more and more people are participating in boycotts of the Big 'n' Nasty corporations.

One of these is not like the others.

May we all find reasons to be thankful every day. May we each create reasons to be hopeful every day.

With love,

Jessica
